IPA Beer Cheese

Sorry the picture for this one isn’t nice- I made this to for traveling to go with me to a party. This is SO TASTY though. We had it with mini whole wheat pretzel nuggets and everyone loved it.

This recipe is: vegetarian, gluten free


  • 8 oz (1/2 lb) cream cheese, softened
  • 5.33 oz (1/3 lb) smoked gouda, shredded
  • 3 oz sharp cheddar, shredded
  • 1/2 cup IPA of choice
  • 1 tsp spicy brown mustard
  • 1/8 tsp ground cayenne pepper
  • 1 green onion, sliced


  1. Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan over low heat. Stir with a wooden spoon and eventually a whisk, until combined and hot.
  2. Pour into a serving dish and top with green onion. Serve with chips, bread, pretzels, sliced peppers, or whatever you want!

Serves about 8 as an appetizer.
